Read with your kids and help them grow

With so many kids playing on the computer and watching TV, one of the great things you can do with your kids is read. If they are old enough to read, have them sit and read you a story. It's a great way to bond with your kids and also the perfect opportunity to do some teaching.
Talk about the story and ask your child questions. Ask them if they liked the story and why, who was their favorite character, who was not their favorite character. If there is a moral to the story, talk about it and explain your own philosophy on life.
On the other hand. If your children are too small to read, you can read to them and ask the same question, just in an age appropriate way. Story time helps your kids learn how to read, helps them vocalize, and is a great alternative to the TV and computer games. You can even introduce your kids to the local library and have them choose their own books.
